Google Pixel product planning exposure The second foldable phone may be launched in the following year
Google may launch a second foldable phone next year, according to product planning leaks
【PhoneAuto News】Recently, foreign media reported that Google may make major adjustments to the Pixel series in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
Insiders said that later this year, Google will launch two new phones in its mainstream series: Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, with Pixel 8 featuring a smaller display and size, and Pixel 8 Pro having the same display and size as Pixel 7 Pro.
It is said that Google also has a plan for a Pixel 8a with the code name “akita”, but the sales of Pixel 7a are not very ideal, so the plan may be canceled. Google is considering canceling the release plan for this type of phone and switching to a biennial release. This will make the A series more consistent with Apple’s iPhone SE series.

According to the report, in the fall of 2024, Google will launch the Pixel 9 series, which may be the same size as Pixel 8. Among them, the screen size of Pixel 9 Pro is 6.7 inches. It is worth noting that Google also has a second Pro-level phone, code-named “Cayman”. This phone will have all the Pro-level features of the 6.7-inch model, but it is officially designed to be 6.3 inches, making it more compact than Pixel 9 Pro.
In addition, if the already released Pixel Fold performs well, its successor will appear in 2025. Foreign media believe that since there is no international competition in the field of folding phones, it is a good move to launch Pixel Fold in 2023, but it seems too slow to launch a flip phone until 2024, considering that Samsung has updated its two folding screens many times.
