Huawei and Changan Automobile sign memorandum of investment cooperation to boost industry development
【PhoneAuto News】On November 26th, it was announced that Huawei and Changan Automobile signed an “Investment Cooperation Memorandum” in Shenzhen on the 25th. Huawei plans to establish a new company focused on the research and development, production, sales, and service of intelligent driving systems and incremental components for smart connected cars.

It is reported that Huawei plans to integrate the core technology and resources of its intelligent vehicle solution business into the new company. Changan Automobile and related parties intend to invest in the company and jointly support its future development with Huawei. Additionally, the new company aims to become a world-class leader in the automotive intelligent driving system and components industry. It will function as an open platform serving the automotive industry, offering equity investment opportunities to existing strategic partner car companies and other investors with strategic value, thus becoming a diversified company in terms of equity ownership. The new company will continue to provide high-quality service to customers and collaborate with partners to promote innovation and advancement in smart car technology, driving the prosperity and development of the automotive industry.

Huawei Executive Director and Chairman of the Intelligent Car Solutions Business Unit, Richard Yu, added, “We have always believed that China needs to create an open platform for electrification and intelligence in the automotive industry, one that involves the active participation of car manufacturers and functions as a ‘locomotive’ for the industry. According to PhoneAuto, Huawei and Changan Automobile have long been engaged in strategic cooperation in multiple areas. In 2019, Huawei and Changan Automobile deepened their strategic cooperation and established a joint innovation center. Subsequently, Changan Automobile, along with Huawei and battery company CATL, jointly created Avita Technology. Huawei provided advanced assisted driving functions and HarmonyOS smart cockpit to Avita Technology. In August 2023, Changan Shenlan and Huawei Vehicle BU signed a cooperation framework agreement, focusing on the intelligentization of automobiles and jointly promoting the research, development, and application of new technologies in the field of smart electric vehicles.
