【PhoneAuto News】On May 16th, the “2023 New Fortune 500 Rich List” was officially released. According to New Fortune’s statistics, the top ten richest people in China are currently Zhong Shanshan, Zhang Yiming, Huang Zheng, Ma Huateng, Zeng Yuqun, Jack Ma, Ding Lei, Wang Wei, Qin Yinglin/Qian Ying, and the He Xiangjian family. Among them, the wealth of the tenth-ranked He Xiangjian family is 137.82 billion yuan. Among the top ten richest people, the wealth of seven people has declined compared to 2022.
Meanwhile, PhoneAuto noted that as the main founder and chairman of Xiaomi Group, and possibly the most watched big shot in the Chinese smartphone industry, Mr. Lei Jun and his family ranked 30th on the “2023 New Fortune 500 Rich List” with a wealth of about 74.56 billion yuan. In addition to Xiaomi Group, Shunwei Capital is also one of the main companies under Mr. Lei’s leadership. It is worth mentioning that there are no other important figures in the smartphone industry ranked ahead of Lei Jun on this list. Therefore, Lei Jun may be the richest person in the Chinese smartphone industry at present.
According to research data from relevant institutions, in the first quarter of 2023, Xiaomi accounted for approximately 11% of the global smartphone market share, which is basically the same as in 2022. In a single quarter, it shipped more than 30 million smartphones, ranking third in market share and sales volume behind two well-known international factories, Samsung and Apple. It is currently the world’s third-largest smartphone manufacturer and China’s largest smartphone manufacturer.
