Samsung Z Fold6/Z Flip6 exposed to have larger internal and external screens! Close to 4 inches.

Samsung Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 Revealed to Feature Larger Internal and External Displays - Close to 4 Inches!

[Mobile China News] According to a very reliable source, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 will have larger internal and external displays.

According to the very accurate source Ross Young (co-founder and CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC)), in a tweet posted on Twitter, both the internal and external displays of the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 will be larger than the internal and external screens of the Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. He does mention that the external screen of the Z Flip 6 will be close to 3.9 inches, which is larger than the original iPhone screen (3.5 inches).

This year, Samsung made a significant change to its most popular foldable phones. Samsung increased the external screen size of the Z Flip 5 to 3.4 inches, allowing users to customize the clock and wallpaper, and run widgets such as calendar, weather, alarm, and timer.

For reference, the Z Flip initially released in February 2020 came with a small external screen of 1.1 inches. It was more like a small tag rather than a real display. Due to its size of only 1.1 inches, the functionality of the external screen was very limited. In 2021, the Z Flip 3 increased the external screen to 1.9 inches, but it still wasn’t large enough to have a significant effect.

Although the external screen size of the Z Flip 5 has increased significantly, its size and functionality still fall short compared to the 3.6-inch external display on the Motorola Razr+. In fact, users can use the Razr+’s external screen to operate the Razr+ instead of the internal display.

Of course, if Samsung doesn’t handle the same functionality on the external screen as the screen on the Razr+, then size becomes irrelevant. Making the external display of the Z Fold 6 larger should help those who find the 6.2-inch 23.1:9 display too narrow and tall for comfortable use.

Samsung does have a habit of making changes to their foldable phones after two generations of products, so if Young’s information is accurate, we might see some significant changes with the Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 next year.
