On October 16th, Yin Tongyue stated at the 2023 Chery Technology DAY that Chery has “started early in the new energy vehicle field, but also caught up a bit late,” but now is prepared to surpass the latecomers in the new energy and intelligent connected vehicle sectors. He expressed that through resource cooperation and coordination, Chery is very confident that it will not be as polite as this year in terms of ranking in the new energy vehicle industry, and will surely enter the top tier nationwide. At the same time, he emphasized, “We will never resort to losses for sales volume in the new energy sector, that’s not what we do.”

Last year, Yin Tongyue announced Chery’s plans for research and development and listing. He stated that in the next five years, Chery plans to invest 100 billion yuan specifically for technological innovation, cultivating over 20,000 R&D personnel, with a software talent ratio exceeding 50%. It is reported that Chery’s goal is to establish 19 Yao Guang laboratories before 2023 and 300 by 2025. In addition, Chery also plans to achieve an IPO before 2025, and some of Chery’s high-quality component companies also have listing plans.

Currently, the new energy vehicle sector is extremely lively, and Chery’s “Yao Guang 2025” strategy is also worth paying attention to, as it is the key to Chery building a new technological advantage in the new track. In the future, Chery’s goal is to seize the high ground in new energy and intelligent connected vehicles, achieve 100% new energy, have independent and controllable new energy and intelligent connected vehicle cooperation technology, and promote commercialization of L3-level and above autonomous driving by 2025.
