【Phoneauto News】On August 10th, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) data public account, in July, China’s automobile production and sales were 2.401 million and 2.387 million respectively, a month-on-month decrease of 6.2% and 9%, and a year-on-year decrease of 2.2% and 1.4% respectively. From January to July 2023, automobile production and sales were 15.65 million and 15.626 million respectively, a year-on-year increase of 7.4% and 7.9%, with the cumulative growth rate falling by 1.9 percentage points compared to the first half of the year.

The data shows that in July, the production and sales of passenger cars were 2.115 million and 2.1 million respectively, a month-on-month decrease of 4.7% and 7.4%, and a year-on-year decrease of 4.3% and 3.4%; from January to July, the production and sales of passenger cars were 13.397 million and 13.368 million respectively, a year-on-year increase of 6% and 6.7%. In July, domestic sales of new energy vehicles were 679,000 units, a month-on-month decrease of 6.9%, and a year-on-year increase of 26%; exports of new energy vehicles were 101,000 units, a month-on-month increase of 29.5%, and a year-on-year increase of 87%. From January to July, domestic sales of new energy vehicles were 3.89 million units, a year-on-year increase of 32.5%; exports of new energy vehicles were 636,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 1.5 times.

In addition, according to the data released by CAAM, from January to July, the sales of the top ten companies in terms of new energy vehicle sales totaled 3.847 million units, a year-on-year increase of 55.8%, accounting for 85% of the total sales of new energy vehicles, an increase of 7.7 percentage points compared to the same period last year. The entire new energy market is still in a phase of rapid growth. Among the top ten companies in terms of new energy vehicle sales, Ideal and Guangzhou Automobile have shown more significant growth compared to the same period last year, both exceeding double the sales. SAIC and Dongfeng have seen a decline in sales growth, while other companies have shown varying degrees of growth.
