The Lamborghini electric concept car may debut as a four-seat GT at the Monterey Car Show

【Phoneauto News】Lamborghini is an Italian car brand known for producing high-performance sports cars and SUVs. Its products have always been characterized by powerful engines, unique designs, and high prices. However, with the continuous development of the electric vehicle market, Lamborghini has also had to follow the trend and launch its own electric car.

According to reports, Lamborghini will showcase a brand new electric concept car at the Monterey Car Show on August 18th. This concept car will be the second fully electric concept car after the Terzo Millenio and another four-seater concept car from Lamborghini, which will be part of its future electrification strategy. Lamborghini stated that the new car will be its first “100% electric concept car” and the “first prototype of the fourth series production car.” The exterior design and power parameters of this new electric concept car are currently unknown. If this is indeed a conceptual version of an upcoming production car, it may be a four-seater GT that aligns with the latest news.

However, according to CEO Stephan Winkelmann, this new electric version of Lamborghini will not be based on Lamborghini’s own platform. Instead, it will share components and platforms with the parent company Volkswagen Group, and the car may share a pure electric platform with other luxury brands under the Volkswagen Group, such as Bentley and Porsche. Other upcoming Lamborghini models, such as the Urus, are not expected to be fully electric immediately, but they will adopt some form of hybrid power technology in the near future. It is expected that by 2024, the successors of the Urus and Huracan will be equipped with plug-in hybrid systems. It will not be until 2029 that the next generation Urus achieves full electrification.
