Li Bin Market changes too fast, NIO’s five-year strategic plan becomes a two-year operational plan.
Li Bin Market's Rapid Transition Triggers NIO's Five-Year Strategy to Condense into a Two-Year Operational Plan
【PhoneAuto News】Recently, PhoneAuto noticed that NIO founder, chairman, and CEO Li Bin shared the reasons for the company’s two-year business plan and the development and resource investment cycle for future products during an internal speech, and expressed his views on the future development of ultrafast charging and battery swapping.
It is reported that NIO has fully launched the formulation of a two-year business plan since July or August this year. This is the first time that NIO has planned in detail for a period of two years, rather than the previous five-year strategic plan. Li Bin explained that this is because the market volatility is becoming increasingly severe and the speed of change is accelerating. If we continue to look at future development from a five-year perspective, the goals may become blurry. Therefore, the company decided to shorten the planning cycle to two years in order to enhance the targeting and feasibility of the plan.
When discussing the development of future products and resource investment, Li Bin emphasized that NIO has long been aware that product development and resource investment are long-term processes. The development and resource investment cycles of many products are around two years, which requires the company to be prepared for long-term investment and continue to research and develop new products and technologies. This is also a concrete embodiment of NIO’s long-termism.
- Tesla Cybertruck interior photos leaked! The interior is also filled with a strong cyberpunk style.
- NIO will launch an MPV model based on the third-generation platform, but it won’t arrive very soon.
- Tesla charges congestion fees at some Supercharger stations in the US, $1 per minute with no upper limit.
In addition, Li Bin also prospects the future development of the two energy replenishment methods, ultrafast charging and battery swapping. He believes that ultrafast charging and battery swapping are not mutually exclusive but complementary to each other. The next generation of vehicles will continue to use the 800V platform or even higher. This means that while NIO continues to improve the user charging experience, it will not neglect the importance of battery swapping as a fast energy replenishment method.
