Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro will get 4 Android updates and 5 years of security patches

【Phoneauto News】Recently, Xiaomi officially announced the release date of Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro. These two models will make their debut at a special event held in Berlin, Germany on September 26. On September 7, according to foreign media reports, Daniel Desjarlais, Xiaomi’s Communications Director, revealed in advance the software update commitments for these two phones, which will both receive four major Android updates and five years of security patches.

Foreign media reports that Xiaomi’s move is comparable to Samsung, but with a slightly slower update frequency. Samsung releases security updates monthly, while Xiaomi releases them every two months. However, it is worth noting that the first major upgrade will be Android 14, which means that if Xiaomi launches Android 14 in a few months and makes the same update commitment, users will eventually be able to upgrade to Android 18.

In addition to the software update commitments, the hardware specifications of these two phones are also highly anticipated. It is understood that the Xiaomi 13T Pro will be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ processor. The Dimensity 9200+ adopts TSMC’s second-generation 4nm process, with the X3 super core frequency increased to 3.35GHz, and the frequencies of the three big cores also increased to 3GHz. It scored over 1.36 million points on AnTuTu. The new phone will be available in 12GB/16GB RAM versions, with various storage options including 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. It will also come in two color options: black and light blue.

As for the Xiaomi 13T, it will feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1.5K and a refresh rate of 144Hz. It will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultra processor and is expected to have up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. In terms of the operating system, the device will run on MIUI 14 based on Android 13. In addition, the device will support NFC, have a built-in 5000mAh battery, and support 67W fast charging.
