【PhoneAuto News】Google launched its first foldable phone “Pixel Fold” last month, which is now available for purchase. However, within just one day of people buying and using it, some users have reported issues with the phone’s screen. Some Pixel Fold users have reported screen damage, with some even seeing dents and cracks.

User Ron Amadeo’s Pixel Fold screen broke within just four days. Amadeo wrote about how this foldable phone started malfunctioning after the slightest use, and the phone has never been dropped. “The bottom 10 pixels of the Pixel Fold first failed, forming a white line of 100% brightness at the bottom of the screen. The entire left half of the display started to be unresponsive to touch, and after an hour, white gradients started to appear on the screen,” he wrote.

Buyers of the Pixel Fold also pointed out similar issues on Reddit. One user noticed the problem within two hours of using the device. This user noticed “one or two bright pink lines,” which later spread across the screen. Another user said they started noticing “very small dents and flaws between the frame and the screen protector.”

In another case, the screen protector of the Pixel Fold started peeling off, and the user discovered what appeared to be scratches. This happened within four hours of receiving the Pixel Fold, and the foldable screen phone was only unfolded three times.

Google has not yet commented on the screen issues, but it is providing a DIY repair kit for the Pixel Fold. Google has teamed up with iFixit starting from the Pixel 6. The DIY kit will include genuine spare parts and tools, as well as step-by-step instructions for repairing or replacing damaged areas. However, due to early complaints from Pixel Fold users, it seems that Google needs to provide more than just a DIY kit.
