【Mobile China News】On October 17th, Xiaomi founder and CEO, Lei Jun, officially announced Xiaomi’s new operating system – Xiaomi HyperOS, the official version is now complete. At the same time, Lei Jun revealed that the Xiaomi 14 series has been delivered to the factory and officially entered production, becoming the first phone to be equipped with the new system.

According to Lei Jun, Xiaomi has been preparing for Xiaomi HyperOS for a long time. Since the establishment of the IoT business in 2014, Xiaomi has been exploring and developing the system. In 2017, the development of the new system officially began. “To support the entire ecosystem devices and applications with a unified system framework” is what Xiaomi aims for.

Xiaomi HyperOS is Xiaomi’s “people-centered, creating a fully ecological operating system for people, cars, and homes”. It is based on an evolved version of Android and Xiaomi’s proprietary Vela system, completely rewriting the underlying architecture, and providing a public foundation for the future billions of devices and connections. It is a crucial leap for Xiaomi towards the “people, cars, and homes” ecosystem. It is reported that Xiaomi HyperOS is similar to Huawei’s HarmonyOS in terms of comprehensive support, as it can provide support for phones, Xiaomi car infotainment systems, and IoT devices.
Unfortunately, Xiaomi has not yet announced the release date of the Xiaomi 14 series. However, there have been leaks suggesting that the Xiaomi 14 series will be released on October 27th and available for sale from November 1st. Xiaomi will likely announce the official event date in the next two days.
