【PhoneAuto News】General Motors is preparing to launch its 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV in the fall of 2023. Although the company has not yet announced any official news, pictures circulating online show that Chevrolet’s new car has already been officially put into production in General Motors’ factory in Mexico.

Although some time has passed since the release of the car, General Motors has always had high hopes for it. It is said to be an affordable electric vehicle for the masses, with a starting price as low as $30,000. However, General Motors CEO Mary Barra recently stated that due to cost reasons, a $30,000 electric vehicle may not become a reality for another decade, indicating that the price of the new car may increase when it is officially launched.

In addition to the electric version of the Chevrolet Equinox, General Motors also plans to launch an electric version of the Chevrolet Blazer, and there will also be pure electric models of some other vehicles coming soon, including the Chevrolet Silverado EV pickup truck, and possibly even an electric sports car.

However, it is rumored that the production vehicles seen in Mexico may only be early test production models or a member of a small batch of vehicles produced for final testing and assembly line configuration. If these vehicles are part of General Motors’ testing fleet, they will now be used as test models and may also be launched in the future. Local sources in Mexico said that about 100 electric versions of the Equinox and Blazer will be produced soon, indicating that the car will be launched as planned in the fall.
