Chery Group sold 139,000 cars in May, a 63% YoY growth

【PhoneAuto News】Recently, several domestic auto companies announced their car sales in May, including Chery Group. PhoneAuto learned that in May this year, Chery Holdings Group sold 139,172 cars, a year-on-year increase of 63%, and the monthly sales have exceeded 100,000 for 12 consecutive months. From January to May, Chery Group sold a total of 596,220 cars, a year-on-year increase of 61%. According to the statistics of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers from January to April, Chery Group’s growth rate ranked second among the top ten enterprise groups in terms of car sales.

Breaking down the performance of Chery Group’s main passenger car brands: Chery sold 103,160 cars in May, a year-on-year increase of 61.2%; from January to May, it sold 433,545 cars, a year-on-year increase of 55.9%. Xingtu sold 7,612 cars in May, a year-on-year increase of 109.2%; from January to May, it sold 31,980 cars, a year-on-year increase of 101.1%. Jetour sold 19,821 cars in May, a year-on-year increase of 72.1%; from January to May, it sold 90,774 cars, a year-on-year increase of 97.3%. As for the models, the Tiggo 8, Tiggo 7, and Jetour X70 are the main sales contributors of Chery Group, with sales of 17,219, 18,976, and 10,186 in May, respectively.

PhoneAuto observed that Chery Group has continuously launched new products and new technologies in the field of new energy vehicles since the beginning of this year. In May, Chery Group launched its first mass-produced model, the TIGGO 9, based on the Chery Mars architecture-super hybrid platform, which is positioned as a “maglev super comfortable flagship SUV”. On June 2nd, Chery Group also launched the mass production of the brand new Kunpeng super-performance electric-hybrid C-DM engine and transmission. It is reported that with the help of the Kunpeng super-performance electric-hybrid C-DM, Chery, Xingtu, and Jetour, the three major brands under Chery Group, will be fully hybridized. By 2024, Chery Group will launch more than 20 C-DM models.
