【PhoneAuto News】Recently, PhoneAuto learned that Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. released its May sales report, with total sales exceeding 200,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 32.49%. The announcement shows that the most eye-catching sector of Changan Automobile in May was new energy vehicles, with sales of 29,288 units, a year-on-year increase of 113.42%; the cumulative sales from January to May were 136,323 units, a year-on-year increase of 104.41%; and the delivery volume of the Shenlan SL03 in May was 7,021 units.

Specifically, from January to May this year, Changan Automobile’s cumulative sales were 989,985 units, while the cumulative sales in the same period last year were 918,334 units, a year-on-year increase of 7.8%. Among them, the sales of independent brands were 835,251 units, a year-on-year increase of 12.74%; the sales of independent passenger cars were 629,927 units, a year-on-year increase of 23.3%; and the sales of independent brands overseas were 96,170 units, a year-on-year increase of 17.05%. According to previously announced information, Changan Automobile’s sales target for 2023 is 2.8 million units.

Changan Mazda and Changan Ford, two joint venture companies under Changan Automobile, had different performances in May. Changan Mazda sold 6,902 units in May, a year-on-year decrease of 20.79% from 8,713 units in the same period last year, with a cumulative sales of 24,784 units this year; Changan Ford’s sales in May were 19,518 units, a year-on-year increase of 48.22% from 13,168 units in the same period last year, with a cumulative sales of 78,327 units this year.

It is worth mentioning that on May 9, Changan Automobile and Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement. According to the agreement, the two parties will carry out strategic cooperation around new energy, intelligence, new energy power, overseas expansion, and travel industry ecology, and jointly promote the development of Chinese brands.
