According to information from the Global 5G Standard Essential Patent and Proposal Research Report released by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology earlier this year, five Chinese companies have become Top 10 patent holders in the global 5G field, namely Huawei, ZTE, Datang, OPPO, and Xiaomi, accounting for 14.59%, 8.14%, 4.34%, 4.19%, and 4.10% of the global patent family, respectively. It is reported that the companies on this list have added another seat compared to 2022, and now occupy half of the Top 10. At the same time, as of June 2022, a total of 210,000 5G standard essential patents have been declared globally, of which about 40% come from China’s declared patent family.
