New official images of the brand new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon released, may be introduced to domestic market next year

【PhoneAuto News】On June 20th, after the debut of the all-new sixth generation E-Class sedan (W214) in April, Mercedes-Benz recently released the official pictures of its wagon version (S214). The new car continues the front face design of the sedan version, but has a larger rear space and trunk. It is understood that the new car will be launched in Europe first this year and is expected to enter the US and mainland markets next year.

Compared with ordinary sedans, wagon models often have more spacious space, and the all-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class wagon has increased compared to the previous generation. The width of the new car has increased by 28mm to 1880mm, the length has increased by 4mm to 4949mm, the width has slightly increased by 1mm to 1469mm, and the wheelbase has also increased by 22mm to 2961mm. However, the new version no longer offers an optional third row of seats, and the standard luggage compartment size of the new car is 615 liters. If the second row of seats is folded up, it can accommodate 1,830 liters of cargo, which is much better than the sedan version in terms of space performance.

In terms of the interior, the wagon version is not much different from the new E-Class, and it also adopts the latest MBUX Superscreen system. The new car is equipped with a large three-screen display, paired with the latest style of three-spoke steering wheel, enhancing the luxury and technology of the overall interior. The car will also be equipped with the third-generation MBUX intelligent human-computer interaction system, which can provide more third-party in-vehicle applications.

Regarding power, the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class wagon offers two power units: a four-cylinder turbocharged engine with ISG intelligent motor system and a hybrid power unit. The former has a comprehensive output power of up to 227 horsepower (167 kW) and can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds. The latter adopts the fourth-generation plug-in hybrid technology, with a battery capacity of 25.4 kWh. Under WLTP conditions, it has a pure electric range of over 100 kilometers and a comprehensive output power of 312 horsepower (230 kW), accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds.

The car also offers a diesel version and will provide a plug-in hybrid system with a diesel engine in the future. In addition, Mercedes-Benz will also launch an AMG version, but it is currently unclear whether it will be equipped with a V8 engine.
