Revelation Huawei Mate60 Porsche Design is no longer available, but there may be a flagship model from Honor
Huawei Mate60 Porsche Design is unavailable, but Honor may have a flagship model
【Phoneauto News】Recently, a digital blogger revealed that Huawei’s partnership with Porsche Design will not be renewed and is highly likely to be acquired by a competitor. This means that the Porsche Design on Huawei Mate flagship phones will end with the Mate60 series. In the future, Huawei may not choose to collaborate with other brands because Huawei itself is a well-known brand.
Since Huawei has decided not to continue its partnership with Porsche Design, who will take over the Porsche Design collaboration?
Some speculations suggest Xiaomi and Honor. Considering that Xiaomi has a collaboration with Leica in terms of imaging technology, it seems unnecessary to involve Porsche as well. The most likely candidate is Honor, as the product lineup of Honor is converging with Huawei’s. Their conventional flagship phones have a strong business vibe, which perfectly matches the brand tone of Porsche, especially their flagship model in the Magic series, which is well-suited for a collaboration.

After the Mate60 series without Porsche Design, it is highly unlikely that Huawei will release any more collaborative models. However, similar high-performance models will probably still be retained. Recently, another digital blogger released a conceptual image of a Mate60 GTS, which features a partitioned strip design in the middle of the rear camera module, with Huawei’s own imaging brand “XMAGE” logo on top. The suffix “GTS” clearly emphasizes the ultimate performance, but it is unknown whether this model will continue the luxury attributes of Porsche Design.
Another noteworthy feature is the Dynamic Island design of the Mate60 series. @ mentioned that this device adopts the same variable Dynamic Island design as the iPhone 14 Pro series. The related animations will be showcased in the complete version of HarmonyOS 4.0. HarmonyOS 4.0 is set to be officially unveiled on August 4th, and there may be information about Huawei’s Dynamic Island at that time.
