Nezha Motors to Establish State-of-the-Art R&D Center and Manufacturing Facility in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

【PhoneAuto News】Zhejiang Hezhong New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd., the parent company of the electric car brand Nezha Automobile, will open a research and development center and assembly plant in the Smart and Autonomous Vehicle Industry (SAVI) Park in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The project is led by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), with headquarters in Masdar City. The park provides advanced facilities and value-added services to promote the design, testing, and manufacturing of autonomous vehicles.

The Nezha Automobile facility in SAVI will become the center for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and will be the company’s third research and development facility, following Shanghai and Hong Kong. It will also provide regional back-end services including sales, marketing, import and export, and after-sales components.

Nezha Automobile will also have the ability to test its latest technology in the testing area on Yas Island. The island provides an established road mobility testing platform and is home to a growing number of technology startups.

Bader Al Easa, Acting Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), said on October 17th, “SAVI is honored to welcome Nezha Automobile to Abu Dhabi, and we are delighted to support the company in developing smart and autonomous vehicles on Yas Island, and becoming a leader in the electric car and battery industry.”

It is reported that Abu Dhabi is developing comprehensive multimodal parks to accelerate the deployment of smart and autonomous vehicles in the air, on land, and at sea. SAVI brings together all relevant stakeholders to drive value chain development, attract companies from around the world, provide funding and investment opportunities, promote and support innovation, streamline regulatory services, and accelerate the adoption of future transportation solutions.
