Geely Car announces new patent for fast-cooling car seats

【Phoneauto News】Recently, the patent for the “Seat Cooling System, Method, Device, and Computer-Readable Storage Medium” applied by Zhejiang Jike Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd. has been published. It is reported that this patent can achieve rapid cooling of car seats.

According to the Enterprise Check App, the application date for Geely’s “Seat Cooling System, Method, Device, and Computer-Readable Storage Medium” is April 27, 2023, and the publication date is July 21, 20230. The inventors are Lu Yan, Chen Lingling, and Lou Xiaobao.

According to the abstract of this patent, it is a seat cooling system, method, device, and computer-readable storage medium. The seat includes a target component in contact with the user, and the system includes: a refrigerant storage tank for storing refrigerant; a refrigerant delivery structure connected to the first end of the refrigerant storage tank and the second end of the cooling bag, used to deliver the refrigerant from the refrigerant storage tank to the cooling bag; the cooling bag is set inside the target component, used for the refrigerant delivered by the refrigerant delivery structure to react and cool the target component. This application can achieve rapid cooling of the target component in contact with the user, avoiding the adverse experience caused by the high temperature of the target component.

According to Phoneauto’s understanding, the current mainstream cooling method for car seats is seat ventilation. If this patent can be successfully implemented for commercial use, the user’s experience in hot weather will be further improved.
